Terrace Project : Main Living Space (As seen in Southern Living's September Issue!)

Our Terrace project was a dream to work on. As seen in Southern Living’s September issue, we wanted to give you a look inside this dream home. .A few years ago, we met Brent and Suzie when they were beginning the process of building a new home. Their family has English origins, and they visit around summer time every year for an extended amount of time. Inspired by seeing beautiful modernized English townhomes while walking around London suburbs and the unique architecture, finishes, warmth, and peacefulness that they offered, the couple knew that they wanted to build a home here in the states with a nod to similar updated English cottage vibes.

Since it was a new build, we used an uncommon creativity to accomplish the feel that they wanted. We pulled in stone floors as a nod to the London suburbs and did a full wall of open windows to be able to really bring the outside in, as an extension of the home.

When it came to furnishings, we blended traditional patterns with light colors and soft lines, a white washed coffee table for warmth, and large greenery to really put the finishing touches on the space.

We had to make a highly functional kitchen with limited space, so it was important to maximize cabinet space and bring in build in appliances in order to make it both practical and cohesive with the rest of the space. Really thinking through how to maximize our limits allowed us to create a finished space that gives off the elevated, cozy cottage feel that Brent and Susie were after.
