Home Office for Party Planner Extraordinaire

We recently designed the Houston home of local creative entrepreneur and party planner. Prior to bringing this space to life, the owner had been running her business out of her dining room—leaving it completely non-functional. Samples, proposals, a computer, favors, tabletop, you name it, flooded the room. One of the main priorities in our scope was to give her (and an employee) a dedicated space in which to work, take client meetings, and get creative.

Our client loves color and wanted a playful, bold environment that spoke to her business. Our challenge was to compose such a space that seamlessly integrated into the rest of the home. We chose soft blue walls as a foundation and went bold with the upholstery. She had eclectic furniture pieces that our team reimagined for the updated space—the office chairs, which belonged to the clients’ grandmother, were recovered in a citron fabric by Maresca Textiles. That same fabric was used to upholster the bulletin boards in front of each desk. The sofa, which we upholstered in a bold pink fabric by Schuyler Samperton, was also the homeowner’s. As this is a home office, the furnishings are roomy and residential, leaving plenty of spaces for casual client presentations and quick couch meetings. The coffee table was purposely oversized to give ample workspace for meetings and client proposals. We used our clients party planning paraphernalia to style the office, which made for the most playful and personal finishing touches. We couldn’t be more pleased with how fun this space turned out!
