Avalon Place : Sitting Room Tour

At our Avalon Place project, we were tasked with creating an interior solution that felt harmonious with the existing architecture of this 2018 home in Houston’s River Oaks. In the entry specifically, we employed patterned wallpaper and a clever furniture layout to create an inviting, cozy vignette in what would otherwise have been a cold and cavernous space at the base of the stairs.

We added Soane Britain’s Scrolling Fern Frond Wallpaper to more clearly define the sitting area. We reinvented the client’s authentic antique pieces with pattern-punched fabrics that featured pinks and yellows, a palette that continues throughout the rest of the home. On the stairs, we traded a stark black runner for a natural woven sisal, to further soften the interior.
