Through all of the highs and lows of this past year, we’ve been so encouraged by the love that we’ve been shown by each and every one of you.

When designing your homes, we’re often inspired to make updates or changes in our own spaces. Recently, our founder and lead designer Katie Davis decided that amping up the aesthetic in her home’s powder and kids’ bath was a must. Her solution: Wallpaper.

At our Avalon Place project, we were tasked with creating an interior solution that felt harmonious with the existing architecture of this 2018 home in Houston’s River Oaks. In the entry specifically, we employed patterned wallpaper and a clever furniture layout to create an inviting, cozy vignette in what would otherwise have been a cold and cavernous space at the base of the stairs.

If asked to design a nursery, our team will hands down say yes every single day of the week. We love the beauty in simplicity, yet the significance in functionality that each nursery needs in order to offer a safe space for our tiniest clients.

Hands down, the most common question that we receive is “What paint color is that?”

Be it bedroom, powder bath cabinets, kitchen colors, playroom furniture… the list goes on and on, the main thing the people are dying to know is what the paint color is. What most people don’t realize is that depending on the amount of light, the other colors in the room, the product being painted (wood vs. furniture) and even the time of day, paint colors can come off very different

In every single one of our projects, we find ourselves saying “Art is personal.” It takes a lot of time and patience to source the perfect piece for each space, and is always worth the process.

This week, we’re really excited to introduce you to one of our favorites, Kayce Hughes! Kayce blends bold color and softer lines to create stand out yet calming pieces that we absolutely love. She’s very enjoyable to work with and For both big and small pieces, she’s always one of the first we go to.

After designing a colorful kid-friendly home for a growing young family in Houston, we were called back in to work on the nursery for their one-on-the-way. Even better? The gender was kept secret from everyone but the design team, making for a one-day installation during a hospital stay and an exciting part-room-part-gender reveal!
